When you care for someone with special needs, you aren’t given a manual.

There are evaluations, appointments, and recommendations, but very little guidance for the everyday realities. Most of the things that actually make life easier aren’t taught in appointments or written down anywhere. They are learned from other people in similar situations, shared casually, or discovered by accident through trial and error.

In my own experience, I kept wishing there was one place where those experiences were written down instead of being passed along by chance.
